World Refugee Day #WRD2025

ree

On 20 June we paused to honor the strength, courage and creativity of people forced to flee. At Paréa Lesvos we marked the day as we do every day: by opening our doors, turning up the music and sharing food, games and laughter. Community is our super-power: In a landscape of waiting, it offers belonging. Every dish cooked, song sung or story told weaves a web of solidarity stronger than borders. This #WRD2025 we reaffirmed our belief: no one should face displacement alone. We invite you to check our video on Instagram, we guaranty you a smile in your face! Watch our video on Instagram — we promise it’ll put a smile on your face!

Child-Friendly Space – Summer Edition

Our Child-Friendly Space inside Paréa is a refuge for young minds. Since April, we’ve welcomed 3–5-year-olds every week day; with schools closed for summer, we now also invite 6–12-year-olds. The team has designed a tech-savvy program for the older children: digital poster-making, basic photography and, of course, plenty of play. The goal is simple—restore routine, spark curiosity and support the children to develop a sense of agency they deserve.

Women Space – Cooking & Connection

Nothing brings people together like a shared recipe. In our latest workshop, 19 women turned the space into a joyful kitchen, chopping veggies, seasoning chicken and folding warm flatbreads into mini souvlaki wraps with homemade tzatziki. As the aromas filled the air, music started, dancing broke out and conversation flowed—proof that community can begin at the stove. The Women Space stays vibrant year-round with Beauty Days, English Café, clay and photography sessions. If you are on Lesvos, click on the photo or here, check the schedule and join the next gathering!
